Engagement

Most projects start with a two-week paid Discovery where we audit your current systems, interview stakeholders, and deliver a roadmap with priorities, cost ranges, and a recommended tech stack. From there, we move into iterative build sprints with weekly demos and a shared Slack channel.

Six weeks. Shorter than that and we can’t deliver meaningful work with the depth our clients expect. Discovery is always the first two weeks, followed by at least four weeks of build or optimization.

Our practice is DMV-based, but we’ve worked with distributed teams across North America and Europe. As long as there’s reasonable timezone overlap for standups and demos, geography isn’t a blocker.

Pricing

Time and materials with a weekly cap, or fixed-bid after Discovery. Most clients prefer T&M for ongoing work and fixed-bid for well-scoped builds. Either way, you’ll never get an invoice that surprises you.

We don’t publish rates. After Discovery, you’ll get a detailed proposal with line-item costs, a not-to-exceed ceiling, and a clear scope. That transparency matters more than an hourly number on a website.

Technical

TypeScript, React, Node, Next.js on the web side. Swift and Kotlin native for mobile when performance demands it, React Native for cross-platform when it doesn’t. PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure depending on the client’s ecosystem.

We can maintain and optimize existing WordPress sites, but for new builds we recommend Next.js with a headless CMS. It’s faster, more secure, and gives us full control over accessibility and performance.

WCAG 2.2 AA is the floor on every project. We audit with automated tools like axe-core in CI, manual screen-reader testing on NVDA and VoiceOver, and keyboard-only walkthroughs. For clients who need it, we target AAA on critical user flows.
